We know it can be a little bit nerve racking to put yourself out there and try something new. It's not easy to check out a church community for the first time. We get it. We want to try to answer as many questions as you might have, beforehand. Please don't hesitate to contact us, if we missed something you're curious about.

What’s Sunday Like?

We are a family of Jesus followers. Each week our family gathers to be reminded of how great God is and dwell on the good news of God's grace and love shown to us in Jesus. We do this by singing together, praying, listening to the story of scripture, celebrating communion, and more. At the end of our time together we are sent out into the community to be good news people. 6839 Byron Road is just a brick building but on Sundays, when the people gather, you’ll find the church.

Who Comes On Sundays?

People of all ages and life stages call Vriesland Church home. There are quite a few young families here so you’ll definitely see some kids running around. We also have plenty of singles, empty nesters, and retirees. We have blue-collar folks, white-collar folks, and all collars in between. We come from a lot of different “places” in life but we have the most important thing in common—we have been rescued by God’s grace and are following Jesus with our lives.

Current Sermon Series

We're currently in the midst of a series exploring the purpose of the church, looking to the New Testament to discover a compelling picture of life giving community, mission and service.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
